Doll Making: Celebrating Characters in Literature and/or History - Jennifer Ogden
Dolls are one of the oldest playthings allowing students to playfully imagine characters and scenes from literature and history. We examine the history of dolls, and then connect it to teachers' choice of historical time periods or selections from classroom literature. Each student is guided to create their own original doll throughout the residency. In this Friday-only residency, teachers may select from a few doll options: Egyptian Paddle Dolls, painted and sewn Rag Dolls, Teddy Bears, Poseable Applehead Dolls or Action Figures.
